Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the bustling heart of One Ayala, Makati City, The Fat Seed Cafe + Roastery is a vibrant culinary gem that artfully blends specialty coffee culture with a fresh, contemporary dining experience. This charming café and roastery expertly caters to both coffee aficionados and food lovers alike, inviting guests into a bright, warmly decorated space adorned with tasteful art that perfectly complements its lively atmosphere.

The culinary offerings at The Fat Seed are thoughtfully crafted, featuring a diverse menu that caters to varied palates. For a comforting start, their Classic Grilled Cheese served with heartwarming tomato soup is a nostalgic delight, where gooey, melty cheese meets the rich tang of a velvety tomato base — ideal for those seeking both simplicity and satisfaction. Or try the Egg Sandwich, a harmonious medley of crispy bacon, chives, sriracha mayo, and caramelized onions, delivering a perfect balance of savory, spicy, and sweet notes that awaken your taste buds.

Coffee here is crafted with the same passion and precision The Fat Seed roasts to perfection under their signature Fat Black espresso. The Espresso Tonic offers a refreshingly bright and effervescent twist on your usual pick-me-up, combining bitter espresso with sparkling tonic water for an invigorating contrast. For a smoother, indulgent sip, the Cappuccino Smooth envelops you in rich espresso layered with velvety milk foam, while the Spanish Latte brings a creamy, caramelized sweetness that lingers delightfully on the palate. For those seeking a unique blend, the Military Matcha masterfully combines ceremonial-grade matcha, oat milk, and their house espresso for a green and beans fusion that's both revitalizing and comforting.

The smooth, nutrient-packed Green Amore Superfood Smoothie is a wholesome green blend featuring kiwi, celery, greens, almond milk, and chia seeds — the perfect light yet satisfying refreshment to balance your meal. This cafe also offers flavorful treats like the overload brownie, punchy with intense dark chocolate that gradually captivates your senses, and a selection of savory plates such as truffle pasta and shrimp with breadsticks, showcasing the kitchen’s flair for bold, memorable flavors.

What truly sets The Fat Seed apart is its approachable yet sophisticated vibe. Customers repeatedly praise the friendly, attentive staff who create a warm, welcoming environment that feels like both a local favorite and an urban retreat. The bright and colorful interiors infuse the space with energy, making it an ideal spot for casual brunches, afternoon coffee rituals, or light lunches. Despite being a popular destination that can get busy—especially during peak hours—the ambiance remains inviting and relaxed. Many patrons appreciate its pet-friendly policy, which underscores the café’s thoughtful approach to guest experience.

While some note that prices lean toward the premium side, particularly for coffee, the consistent high quality, generous portions, and genuine hospitality justify every peso spent. Friendly and attentive staff. Quick and efficient. Had to follow up our salt and pepper, but staff was apologetic anyway..colorful and bright interiors. Food was excellent, delicious,savory.. servings were of the right size.. perfect for our Sunday brunch. Server though wasn't sure if the Belgian beer was craft..but that's okay.

Pleasantry surprised to how good the food was! The serving is pretty big, and their burgers (chicken, and bacon ordered separately) were really good! Generous with the bacon and fries! My friend ordered a bacon and cheese omelette which was delicious! The ambiance is pretty nice too, I like their art/decor. The staff were all accommodating and nice. I’d love to go back :)

The overload brownie was surprisingly strong on the dark chocolate. It really came in with a punch. I gave up on it, but it slowly grew on me. The Spanish latte was not memorable. The ambiance was beautiful, and the waiters were cute, attentive, and pretty funny too.

Everything that we ordered was delicious. My favorites are the truffle pasta and the shrimp with breadsticks (I've forgotten how it's called. It's in the photo). The quinoa salad were great too. Not a boring bite. Cute latte art. They have beef pares and it's served in old school 3-layer tin lunch boxes that the staff would open and set for you. I think it's overpriced for a beef pares. They added a "presentation" to attempt to justify the high price. Tasted like any other beef pares that you can get anywhere else for a way lower price of P180. 3 stars for their service because when we arrived looked around for vacant tables and seats for our group (there were 6 of us), and saw that there two tables may be joined together to form one. They were near each other so there should not be any fuss about it. None of the staff wanted to help us. It's like they didn't want the tables rearranged. They're not even far from each other nor a space an issue. If anything, there would be bigger space for other guests to walk around because of how the two tables would be joined together. We had to ask them a few times before they granted our request. Way to start our experience! :(

Last November, a quick afternoon coffee run led to my discovery of The Fat Seed’s Manuka Honey Latte, which instantly became a favorite. I’d always assumed most iced coffees tasted alike, but the honey adds a distinct, surprisingly delicious depth to the coffee. Returning this December to satisfy that honey latte craving, the drink was just as good as I remembered. However, the real standout this time was the Fried Chicken and Ube Waffles served with Bacon-Infused Maple Syrup and Salted Egg Sauce. The pairing of the ube waffles with the salted egg sauce was phenomenal: the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and umami in every bite. Service remained impressive even with the restaurant packed during the lunch rush, and orders still came out quickly. The only drawback was the bar seating. Since no tables were open, it wasn’t the most comfortable option, though solo diners might appreciate it more. Overall, this spot still earns a well-deserved five stars in my book. I’ll definitely be returning for this meal again.

Whenever I’m at One Ayala Terminal, I stop by this branch for coffee or a light lunch. The place has a nice ambiance, the food and drinks are great, and I love that it’s pet-friendly. It does get crowded, so I often start at the bar while waiting for a table to free up. I don’t really mind because I enjoy being here. Prices, especially for coffee, are a bit on the higher side, but the quality makes it worth it. My top picks are the Tartufo Pasta, Mango Rum Chicken, and Breakfast Steak Skillet.

Loved my experience. Staff was very accommodating and cheerful. Addy and Jean were great. What a warm team! Food was good too. Highly recommend if you’re here in Makati.
